The beautiful, large park was established along the Klenice waterway in 1881. It was named in honour of the betrothal of Rudolph of Habsburg, the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne and member of the military garrison in Mladá Boleslav, to Belgian Princess Stephanie — Štěpánka.
As in the past, today the Forest Park is used for relaxation and sporting activities by local residents. There are tennis and volleyball courts, a municipal ice stadium and municipal indoor swimming pool with toboggans. A modern outdoor swimming pool is situated on the right bank of the river.
