Because we had only four artists instead of five in 2014 (some of our invitations had been rejected), we were determined to prevent this situation and sent out more invitations than in the previous year. To our surprise, almost all of the invited artists signed up, so we had six artists instead of five. Alain Bouvet was one of the last to accept, because he was worried about the language barrier.
Yet another purpose of the Symposium is to remove these barriers and find collaboration with new colleagues. Moreover, because he had colleagues from Switzerland and Belgium who spoke French, it was finally not a problem. Alain Bouvet created a beautiful sculpture with two dragonflies out of scraps. He needed to paint it, so we had to provide colour spray paints. He named his work "Poussez l'ailles", which means "Growing Wings". The author wanted to symbolically express that the wings of every young person grow when they explore and learn about the world.
