Metal Trail

We found Bart Somers on the Internet. When we contacted him and introduced the Metal Symposium to him, he did not hesitate to promise his participation. He asked us to find a suitable bench, as he wished his work to be installed on a bench and to be interactive. This was actually the first non-standard material requirement.

 However, we did not understand that the artist would need to have the bench right away so he could test whether the statue would fit on it. With a bit of luck, we managed to get the bench in time and he was able to complete his work. It was the first interactive work of art, making it possible to bring art closer to the people in a playful way. People can sit on the bench next to the statue and have a photo taken of themselves with the statue.

 Bart Somers was also the first artist to bring ready-made parts of the statue with him, in order to be able to complete the work on time during the five-day period in Mladá Boleslav. The work has been installed in front of the 3rd Elementary School in Mladá Boleslav.
