Guy Gendrot is a French artist whom we approached in November 2012. His biography reveals some interesting facts: at first he was a successful banker, but in 2005 began to work as an artist-blacksmith. His work is clearly linked to his experience in the banking sector.
He started to communicate about the required material only one week before the event, so we were a bit nervous. Fortunately, the profiles he wanted are commercially available, so there was no problem. Guy Gendrot worked in the basement of the Secondary Technical School and his technical requirements were simple: a CO2 welder, a forge, an anvil and angle grinders.
His statue bears the title "Protect Our Children – from the Injury of Capitalism". His experience in the banking industry has taught him that, if not careful, anyone can be tricked by the banking sector. You can admire the statue, composed of metal banknotes of various "hard" currencies in the garden of Dr. Pírek's Clinic.
