Steve Molloy contacted us quite unexpectedly. We could hardly believe that someone from the other end of the world had heard about the Metal Symposium and wanted to attend. However, as we did not have enough money to pay for his entire air ticket, we offered financial participation, explaining that we would be very happy to welcome him, but our financial resources were limited.
As we received no reply from him, we believed that he had become disinterested and so we invited another artist. About 48 hours later, Steve Molloy said he would accept our terms. So we had six participants instead of five.
As for the required material, the most difficult thing was to find a large-volume pipe. We managed to deliver it on the second day of the Symposium. In the evening, Steve Molloy asked if he could change his work, because the building of the Secondary Technical School, where the Symposium was held, had inspired him with new ideas. We agreed to it, as we always try to make the artists as happy as possible so that everybody is satisfied. His work is interesting in that it is two-dimensional from a certain viewpoint, while from another angle it gains depth and three-dimensionality. The work is called "In Tune" so we could hopefully say that Steve Molloy felt comfortable and "in tune" with us.
