Matt Hill attended our event in 2017. When he accepted our invitation back then, he said he had received one of the tickets from Willy Wonka. He created a statue entitled Hope, which is now installed in the garden of Dr. Pírek Clinic. His excitement with the Metal Symposium was apparent, as he started to sponsor us from Australia. He asked at the beginning of 2022 whether he could participate if he were to pay for his own flight ticket.
We could hardly refuse since offers of this kind do not come every day and we had an opportunity to welcome an excellent artist under such advantageous conditions. He sent a list of the parts for his sculpture and asked to have them cut with laser in the same manner as previously. This was not a problem, as we were arranging the same service for Daniel Sotel and Ilker Yardimci. We did not have to look for additional suppliers.
Although he arrived on Tuesday instead of Monday due to unforeseen circumstances, Matt Hill is highly professional and therefore had no problems with time. He managed to create a beautiful artwork that impresses not only during the day, but looks magical at night, after it is lit and creates magnificent display of shadows in its vicinity.
