In autumn 2017, we received a folder by post with a presentation of Miguel Angela Velit's work. His works are mostly abstract, monochrome, but in bright, distinctive colours. We were captivated by the presentation and therefore gladly agreed to his participation.
At that time, he sent us a sketch of the work he wanted to create, followed by a discussion of the list of materials and tools to be provided. The first part was arranged according to his requirements, but some specific elements had to be provided after his arrival. We went together to a scrapyard where he picked the remaining materials for himself. The people from the scrapyard were very willing to modify and cut off some metal scraps at his request and even to burn a few holes into them, just as he wished. We chose some last pieces needed for his work from a store.
From that moment, he worked in the workshops in the school basement. He requested the assistance of his fellow artists as well as the organising team for his work. His work depicts a TV on which a football match from the 2018 World Championships held in Russia is being screened, one of the playing teams being Peruvian.
