We included painting on pavements in the event for the fourth time this year. Jan Jírovec had two designs prepared from the previous years. He created the first design in 2021 on the Náměstí Míru square and since the second design included aircraft, it was to be placed near the Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum.
As the organisers of the event, we believed that the painting would be created according to the original design. However, Jan Jírovec sent us a new design the night before the start of the symposium and there was little time left for any debate. Brief research showed that everyone we asked liked the new design even more than the first one and it was therefore accepted.
This year’s painting shows a gulf and an airplane that appears to be flying above the cobble stones. We went to see this artwork during the symposium with the blacksmith Zeevik Gottlieb, and with Matt Hill and Daniel Sotelo, and they were all of the opinion that it is a great piece of work. When they saw the photograph, they were stunned. As the lifespan of the painting is hard to estimate, we recommend that you come to see the image with your family as soon as possible to take a photograph of you flying a historical plane – a new exhibit at the museum.
