Martin Kučera participated in the Metal Symposium for the second time. This year’s topic – baroque was selected because the Czechtourism agency offered subsidies for cultural projects. Cultural projects linked to the theme of baroque received additional points. In addition, our project would be promoted by Czechtourism. Although our application was not successful, we kept the topic. Martin Kučera created a beautiful blue baroque bench. The director of the Municipal Theatre in Mladá Boleslav requested that the bench is placed near the theatre. We attempted this but installation of the bench near the entrance to the small stage was not approved by the fire brigade for safety reasons. As the negotiations were lengthy, we asked Martin Kučera to create additional two smaller pieces in the following year. Unfortunately, the fire brigade rejected the proposal and the negotiation on the placement of the bench was not successful. By then, the bench had been locked in a store for more than a year. In 2020, the mayor of Žerčice offered to have the bench installed in their municipality. We believed that this was a better option than hoping for faster approval of a different location for us and for Martin Kučera.
